New Zealand Health Group (NZHG) is New Zealand’s largest private at‑home healthcare provider, delivering care to over 60,000 New Zealanders through a 10,000‑strong workforce. Over time, NZHG’s digital ecosystem had grown into a mix of core systems and multiple custom applications, many of which had reached a legacy state.
These older systems were costly to maintain, slow to change, and carried compliance and security risks. NZHG engaged Experieco to lead a multi‑year, multi‑application modernisation programme, consolidating and re‑platforming critical tools on the OutSystems low‑code platform for faster delivery, easier maintenance, and better user experiences.

Context
NZHG needed a technology partner who could deliver not just modern applications, but also design leadership, agile delivery, and a deep understanding of healthcare workflows.
Key pain points
Ageing custom applications with high technical debt
Proprietary code ownership issues limiting flexibility
Slow change cycles and high maintenance costs
Poor usability for a mixed workforce (tech‑savvy and non‑tech‑savvy users)
Security and compliance risks from outdated platforms
